Tigg was broke to ride as a late 2 year old/early 3 year old. She actually was one of the trainer's favorites, since she was so quiet...yet extremely responsive and willing to learn.

2020 - Tigg is having some soundness issues. We were going to put her down (as our vet advised) after weaning her 2020 filly. However, the buyer of the filly is also a vet. After looking at, and hearing the story on the Tigg, she thought Tigg looked healthy and vibrant. She convinced us to wait until TIGG decided she was in too much pain to enjoy life. ....so Tigg is now in foal for October, 2021. We can give her extra attention and care, and she (and her foal) can have the use of the entire foaling barn all winter.

While we did get a gorgeous dble homozygous buckskin tobiano filly, the pregnancy was not easy on Tigg. We have decided it's in her best interest to euthanize once her filly is weaned in March, 2022.

Daughter of Ris Key Business out of a daughter of QT Poco Streke. Beau has been tested and is homozygous for both the black and the tobiano genes. She is also negative on the 5 panel tests.

Beau has had a rough life, so her next home will be screened, and we will request a first right of refusal (we have the option to meet any offer you get on her) in the contract if the buyer decides to sell her. She left when she was not quite a year old, came back 'home' after almost 10 years. Those years included her herd being seized by officials for starvation as well as other forms of neglect. Beau is not trusting of people (as you'd expect) but she is sweet and nice to handle. A little grain will get you a LOOONG ways with this girl. She is the bottom mare in the herd and tends to stay by herself because of that. Beau is a GREAT mother, and likes being a mother.

This is a laid back, very friendly, BIG girl. For as long as she's here, she's probably going to end up as a combination broodmare/family trail horse. ;-)

This mare did get a couple round pen rides on her in the fall of 2017, as she was a participant in a weekend Clinton Anderson style clinic.

We lost her 2019 foal shortly after birth, but she has proven to be an outstanding adoptive mother. We will give her this year off to get her riding well, and then be breeding her back to Pepsi for a 2021 foal.

This is another great young filly that was bred and born here. Her dam is a foundation bred blue roan mare that has consistently given us some great foals.I have no idea how this filly got to be the size she is, as she's pushing 16 hands.....at least 2 inches taller than her dam and a good hand taller than her sire. She's a gorgeous mare with a sweet personality. She's has several months of reining training, but has not been ridden for a few years now. Straight and correct, but no longer sound to ride.

As you can see, her conformation (especially for a 'cow horse') is incredible. Sal is a great mare to be around. She's sweet and friendly with no bad habits or vices. We had her ridden for 30 days shortly before age 3. Sal is definitely what everyone should be looking for in a broodmare.  Spots would be nice, but since she's 100% AQHA bred (one cropout a couple of generations back), her (lack of) 'color' should not be surprising.

For anyone that does not know of A Tru Rolex, here's a brief summary. Ris Key Business' son, Strait from Texas, owned the rights to be called the all time leading open performance point earning stallion in APHA history up until his untimely death.   Since then he has been passed in points by A Tru Rolex. Now Rolex is the all time leading open performance point earning stallion in APHA history. Similar disciplines for both stallions......heading, heeling, steer stopping, and working cow horse.
A Tru Rolex has over 3,300 performance points with 3 Reserve World titles and is a 4x Congress Champion. This is a very nicely built, sweet, people oriented young mare. Love her color....love her pedigree. I'd prefer to have the horses between 14.2 and 15 hands....but that's just the results of the genetics 'roll of the dice'. LOL.

Cooper is sweet and friendly with a great mind. He has some 'gas' and extreme athletic ability. He could be a great barrel racer and/or rope horse. He could also be a nice trail horse. Cooper has not been ridden in 4 years, so obviously will need someone with experience for the next few rides.

Cooper stands around 15 hands and is VERY stout.

He has a gorgeous head and ear with outstanding conformation in addition to that his dun color and unique markings.

Lacee is a well mannered, well broke mare. We have not had a chance to ride her (she's in foal), the previous owner used her for lessons and/or for her grandkids.
We were told all of her previous foals have been homozygous....so it's pretty likely she is also. Lacee stands around 14.2 and is a stout mare. Her sire is an accomplished show horse with points and/or earnings, and is a son of Freckles Playboy. He no longer stands in the US as he was purchased and exported to South America.

]Jack has been rescued. The top photo was taken May 18th, 2012.

The bottom two photos were taken the day we picked him up from the ARL in November. He had been gone from our farm only 3 months before the Humbolt Co Sheriff seized him and 9 others. Not sure how a horse can lose that much weight in 3 months.....   Jacks biggest handicap in this home was his sweet, laid back attitude. As you can see, that personality type doesn't fare well when you have to fight for survival.

Jack is a nice riding horse. He rides in the arena, but prefers the trails. Jack lost an eye when he was only a couple of days old. Other than giving him an extra foot of lead rope so he can look around a bit more than other horses, and talking to him when approaching him just to make sure he knows you are there, there is nothing about him that would make you suspect he has only one eye. That's probably the advantage of growing up that way......he doesn't know any different. Jack is VERY sweet, friendly and easy to get along with. Jack is a quiet and calm riding horse. Jack is a VERY intelligent and loving horse.

Jack's next home will be carefully screened. Otherwise we might just keep him around as our own personal riding gelding. He's big and stout enough, and quiet enough, that even Mike is comfortable riding him.

If you think you have a suitable home for Jack, let us know. We wont' be giving him away, but he will be inexpensive for the right owners.....and we will require a 'first right of refusal' buy back guarantee.

Big, pretty filly that was born and raised here. Sold as a yearling, but now traded back to us for a weanling that is not related to the owners new 'Ris Key' stallion.

This filly is by our grullo homozygous tobiano cutting trained Ris Key Business/Peppy San Badger bred stallion.
She is out of a 16 hand double homozygous daughter of the great sire: Movin to the Music - Second in the nation in OCAP Dressage. Superior Performance Sire in Heading, Heeling and Steer Stopping. ROM Sire, points in Western Pleasure, Dressage, Jumping and Equitation

We did not bother testing this filly before she left, since we knew there was a guarantee of her being homozygous tobiano and a 50% chance of also being homozygous black.

I'll get some photos later this week when we turn her out to reunite with her old buddies.....

UPDATE 11/5/2013:
Further testing shows she IS ALSO homozygous for the black gene. Also did the 5 panel testing. All clear.

To the best of my knowledge she has never been bred, even though with the big, big names on her papers (Peponita, Peppy San, Doc Olena, Doc Clabber, Mr Bud Bars), it will become more and more tempting for us to do so as breeding season approaches!
